There is an endless supply of “content” out there to consume. Every niche interest, every tight corner of intrigue has a place on the internet to call home. Another newsletter or website is a drop in the ocean. There is a constant and relentless feeling that what you provide to the world is like tears in the rain.
But who cares.
This is a place for me to write about things that I care about. Mostly films that I love or ones that I can’t stop thinking about. It won’t always be the newest release or the hottest box office picture. Sometimes it’ll be about rethinking a familiar favourite or an NBA finals game, or that one foreign language film I don’t quite understand but love for reasons I am unable to articulate.
Ultimately I’m a nerd who spends too much of their time on the internet, I obsess over things I have no control over and I have a deep rooted desire to learn how things are done. I won’t (because I can’t) write with any authority. There is simply too much snobbery when it comes to writing about really anything. I haven’t written anything better than the worst thing I’ve watched in a movie theatre and I have made far fewer shots than that one guy on the Raptors that seems to get everyone tight.
What I write about will be a sort of roulette of things but this space will primarily be reserved for films. Why? Because I LOVE films. I love watching them, I love thinking about them and I love learning about them. I want to provide value to this space but have fun with it. I talk about films with friends constantly, (maybe too much and perhaps this is the place where the overflow goes), and I want this to be an extension of those conversations.
I will read a film review and wonder why they want to talk down to their readers or I see someone on Twitter where everything they write is a shit post or hit piece. I prefer to fill my time with things I enjoy and hopefully this newsletter could be one of those things for you. I’m trying to bring earnestness back. I want to write with the enthusiasm that Eric Collins has calling Hornets games.
My goal is to publish interesting but easily digestible pieces that will bring value to the reader, whether it is reminiscing about an old film together or trying to kick the feeling that Andrea Bargnani was just ahead of his time and not really a bust and would have probably helped at least 15 teams today.
This newsletter will be published on a weekly basis. Everyone needs a healthy hobby.

Your recommendation to watch In the Mood For Love elevated my film game, so I’m here for more. 🙏
